1.回户籍地升学：户籍不在广州市番禺区的小学毕业生，原则上应回户地升学。在入学当年8月31日前迁入番禺区户籍的，按番禺区户籍小学毕业生的录取途径进入公办初中。
2.民办学校录取：广州户籍不在番禺区的小学毕业生，家长（或监护人）可选择联系子女（监护人）报读我区民办学校.
3.初中入学总体安排：广州户口不在番禺区的应届生，在我区公办小学毕业的，如确需在我区学习，毕业学校所在教育指导中心统筹安排在学区的一所公立初中（含公办学位的民办学校）招生。
广州户口不在番禺区的小学应届毕业生，符合广州市“租售同权”录取条件的，需申请入读义务教育学校起始年级在番禺区，以居住地教育为指导根据学区学位情况，中心统筹安排其子女进入本学区义务教育公办学校入学年级（包括拥有政府资助学位的私立学校）。招生的总体安排主要是落实义务教育程度，而不是保证他们进入所在地区的相应学校。
4.社区公办学校录取：广州户口不在番禺区的适龄儿童，如果父母在我区配套公办学校的小区买房，应在当年 5 月 31 日前申请入学已被收回的建筑物，按《社区配套社区公立学校学位分配原则》（详见下文《住宅小区业主适龄子女入学》）），他们将被分类为支持所在社区的公立初中。未按时报名者，视为放弃配套公办初中学历，教育部门不再为其安排公办初中学历。业主子女如未能通过上述安排进入社区配套初中，需返回户籍所在地学习，或自行联系民办学校。
