Step 1: Great Sentences
写出好句子
句子，是一篇文章的基本单位。怎样写一个好句子？这套书第一册会带孩子学习构建句子的基本知识和技能，比如：
Understanding Sentence Basics：关于英文句子的基本知识，怎样才算是表达到位的句子 ...Writing About the Present / Past / Future：如何用句子描述过去、现在、将来 ...Describing Actions：如何描写动作...Writing Complex Sentence with Adjective Clauses：如何用各种形容性的语言写出复杂句子......等等

举个例子，句子写成什么样，才算表达到位呢？这本书的教法相当独特和巧妙。
书中会让孩子阅读三篇文章。让孩子体会三篇文章的差异，了解怎样才算“写得好” 。
比如，这是A篇，读下来我们会发现，这篇短文中的句子普遍较短，表达含义断断续续，上下文的联系比较弱。总之，不算是一篇好的作文。
Deuce is a special term.Another term is volly.A volley is a shot.

到了B篇，文章质量好一些了：运用到一些复杂的句型，信息表达顺畅了不少。比如：
When tennis players use this word, it means each player has three points.

然而，这篇文章中还是有些不足，有时候相关的信息在两句话中分别陈述，读起来信息混乱。比如：
Tennis has many special terms.Tennis players understand these terms.

到C篇，又进步了不少，语句之间的联系顺畅，句型多样表达丰富，是三篇中最好的一段。比如：
Deuce is a special term that means each player has three pointsAnother term that is used by tennis players is volley.

从第一篇到第三篇，短文质量越来越高。书中会引导孩子做对比 - Evaluating the paragraphs，直接体会到句子之间的表达差异，直观地理解表述规则。

Step 2: Great Paragraphs
写出好段落
句子有了，下一步就是写成段落。一段话往往有一个主题，句子和句子之间有清晰的逻辑，有论点、有论据。怎么把句子变成段落，孩子们要学这些：
Developing Ideas for Writing a Paragraph 如何构思一段话？Topic Sentences 主题句怎么写？Supporting and Concluding Sentencs 论证句、总结句怎么写Definition / process / opinion / narrative Paragraph 如何写各种类型的段落（定义型、过程型、意见型、叙述型 ... ）...等等。

举个例子，孩子们要学习如何写出优秀的段落主旨句（topic sentence）。一个优秀的主旨句，往往具备五个特征：

句子有了，段落有了，怎么组合成一篇好文章，可大有讲究。从段落过渡到文章，孩子们要学习这些内容：

一般英文文章，段落的基本构成是：
Topic sentence（主旨句）Supporting sentences（论证句）Concluding sentence（结论句）
而整篇文章的基本构成是：
Hook+Thesis Statement（富含吸引点和意义的主题）Supporting paragraphs（论证段）Concluding paragraph（结论段）
